I tried to take a decent picture, I really did…I don’t have an actual camera, plus, I had more records than I realized. A couple of them are exposed from their sleeves, as my Ralf and Florian is on white vinyl and one of the Computer Love records is on yellow vinyl. I want to get them in German someday, as well as get a hold of a copy of Electric Café. Most of them are U.S./U.K. releases, though two records are Italian releases with excerpts from Autobahn, Ralf and Florian, Kraftwerk 1, and Kraftwerk 2. I have some records of live shows (far from official, unfortunately,) too, and even a sealed copy of Tone Float by Organisation!
Funny how we sort of find these things after being around them for so long, isn’t it? I almost think I’d never found Kraftwerk if they weren’t an old group by the time I did, since I almost never listen to newer music. And even though they’re technically “old,” something about Kraftwerk is very…Neu! (That pun was begging to be used!) Their artistry and nostalgic flavor of futurism is extremely unique and definitely a result of their backgrounds and time without seeming horridly outdated or cheesy, even if it’s easy to parody them. Perhaps that’s why they don’t sound “outdated” like some bands…though I do love things a lot of people call outdated. And analog synthesizers, which I was introduced to by Kraftwerk.

Really great Kraftwerk collection by blalantlyloqiacious <3 Congrats a lot ^__^

virescent-phosphor ha detto:: Thank you for all of the kind words! :) I got into Kraftwerk after seeing the video for "The Robots" online. It was far from anything I'd seen before and sounded so different from what I thought of as "electronic" music. I wasn't quite sure if I liked it or not, but I was definitely fascinated. I listened more and more, and found myself loving them. I didn't know before, but my father had most of Kraftwerk's albums on CD, so I borrowed them. Later on, he got me a ton of LPs in Europe!

Wah, such great! Me, too, listening to The Robots for the first time in 2011, it was strange, but…it was as if I knew Kraftwerk eternally, though I knew them only by name ‘til that time! Strange, don’t you think? I suppose there was a sort of affinity through the years, from 2004 to 2011, I just can’t explain xD Me, too, I got into swing seeing The Robots clip :) So I started from 2012 buying old LPs by Kraftwerk. Here is my collection <3 I post you a photograph :) Kraftwerk 1 & 2 are bootlegs. But I’m lookin’ for originals, though they’re expensive ( :( ). What about you? I’m curious by seeing your collection. I’m looking foreward for it! :D Dear greetings,

Costanza

virescent-phosphor ha detto:: Out of curiosity, how did you get interested in Kraftwerk?

Hello, nice to meet you :) Well, I just know Kraftwerk by name since I was 12, but I wasn’t so as interested in their music as now. How can I say, I was just ‘terrified’ by Electro music those years, by those anxious vocoder robotic sounds. You just asked me how did I get interested in Kraftwerk; that’s a good question, because…I can’t explain what kind of feelings I get, knowing their Philosophical approach. That’s just a state of mind, believe me. There’s something special in what they do, in what they say. I’m fascinated by their cryptical personality. Sentences as ‘From silence to everywhere’ give me shivers deep inside (positively, naturally). Kraftwerk are just apotropaic, I think. So, I just try to study their interesting psychological gestures :) Hoping I’ve been exhausting enough ^_^ Thanks for asking! Good Tumblr! :D
